What it is like to attend
Staff give children a warm welcome as they arrive at this nurturing pre-school.
Children happily come in and show positive attitudes, curiosity and interest as they busily play and learn together. Staff know the children well and demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of the intent of their curriculum. They know exactly what progress children have made and what they will be working on next to prepare children for the next stage. Children behave well in response to the expectations of staff. Staff use visual aids to support children to begin to understand their emotions.
The pre-school places emphasis on supporting the development of children's communication skills. Children are introduced to new vocabulary as part of their activities. Staff incorporate these words during play to provide context for children.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- ensure that staff include all children in their interactions to fully support children's learning and development n develop staff confidence to provide younger children with consistently highquality opportunities to develop their communication skills further.

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
