What it is like to attend
Children are incredibly happy and content in this warm and welcoming nursery.
Children greet staff affectionally, take care of their own belongings and eagerly make choices about what they would like to do as soon as they arrive.
Children thoroughly enjoy the time they spend in the outdoor area. Children work as a team to join drainpipes together before using the different containers to pour water down them. They learn to solve problems when they realise the gaps where the drainpipes join mean the water escapes. They talk to each other about this and decide they need one longer drainpipe, which they find on the other side of the garden, and work together to move it to where they need it. Children's behaviour is exemplary. They show great concern and care for others' feelings. For example, they kindly ask children who are upset to come and sit by them.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
