Funded hours
All 3 and 4 year olds, and eligible 2 year olds, can claim up to 15 funded hours per week during term time from the term after their birthday. Here at Tiny Tots, the funding can also be stretched over 51 weeks at approx. 11.17 hours per week. Most working parents can also claim 30 hours of funding from the term after their child turns 9 months (or 22.34 hours if stretched).
Worth knowing. Meals for funded sessions: Full day – Breakfast, AM snack, Lunch, PM snack and tea - £11.75; 7.5 hour session - This is based on two snacks and lunch - £7.25. Alternatively, meals/snacks can be provided by parents.

What it is like to attend
The nursery team warmly greet the children and their parents at the door. Most of the children that enter the building, quickly settle into a familiar routine. Those who are unsettled get welcomed in by their key person. Children in all rooms engage in free-flow play, staff place a strong emphasis on independence in all the rooms.
Children develop their independence by self-serving at mealtimes, learning how to dress themselves and using the toilet. Babies show delight in sensory play, using their hands and feet to discover the textures of dry cereal in tuff trays. Staff encourage this by asking appropriate questions and allowing the children to explore freely. Toddlers enjoy role play, actively engaging with the resources and being supported by the staff in a sensitive manner.
Pre-school children join in with parachute games and use climbing equipment to develop their physical abilities. Inside, the children roll and squash play dough and a group of children gather round a staff member to listen to a story about firefighters. The staff member asks questions and recaps on what the children learned the day before. - Is £47.00 a day still the rate? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
