What it is like to attend
Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities well. They identify and implement targeted plans to meet the individual needs of children.
Children benefit from staff receiving training from other professionals to meet their individual needs, such as to build on their physical movement. Furthermore, children are supported to develop their core muscles and strength in their bodies.
For instance, when staff use tools to make bubbles float into the air, very young children kneel and reach to pop the bubbles. Younger children move their bodies to action songs when they are asked to pretend to be penguins, lions and dinosaurs.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- support staff to build on the individual learning needs of the most-able older children during activities n strengthen the sharing of information about what children need to learn next between all staff so that their learning is further supported during play.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
