Funded hours
15 hours funding available to 2 year-olds of families receiving income benefits; 15 hours funding available to all 3 & 4 year-olds; 30 hours funding available to children aged 9 months plus of working parents.
Worth knowing. Early Years funding is for 38 weeks per year. Funding can be used at more than one setting. Funding is claimed per term and hours cannot be banked for future use. We close for 3 days of staff training; 1st Monday of each new term. If your child attends on Mondays, we will offer you alternative sessions when possible. Sessions missed due to sickness or holidays are not reimbursed.

What it is like to attend
Children arrive at the pre-school happy and ready to learn. The routine of the day helps children to feel safe and secure. Children who are new to the pre-school settle well as they receive lots of reassurance and support. They show that they feel comfortable with the nurturing staff. Children are soon confident to explore their surroundings, knowing that a caring adult is close by. This helps children to build positive relationships from their first day.
Staff are good role models and have high expectations for all children. Children behave very well. Staff and children treat each other with respect and use good manners. Children are encouraged to be kind and helpful. This makes the environment feel very calm and welcoming. Each day, a child is selected to be the
'helper'. They take on this role with pride.

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
