What it is like to attend
Staff know the children incredibly well and confidently describe what their key children's interests are, what they are currently learning and what they need to do next. Staff then plan activities to support and enhance children's learning. For example, children persevere as they use tools to cut up real fruit and vegetables to develop their fine motor skills. Staff closely monitor children's development to ensure all children make excellent progress and are well prepared for the next stage in their learning.
Staff are excellent role models for communication. They talk slowly and clearly with younger children, introducing new words, while using signing to support children's understanding. As children get older, staff continue to build up children's vocabulary. For instance, children are encouraged to use words such as 'prediction'
when looking at what objects float or sink in water. As a result, all children have incredibly strong communication skills and confidently talk about what they are doing and why.
