What it is like to attend
The leadership team has made improvements since the last inspection. There is now a strong focus on what the team wants children to learn, which is widely understood, and children's individual needs are met. This has had a positive impact on children. Children arrive happy to meet staff and their friends. Staff are kind and nurturing towards the children, who know them well. Children often check in with staff for a reassuring cuddle, which helps children to feel safe and secure. Staff are calm and are positive role models towards children. Children have good routines in place, which they know and follow well. Children learn to build their resilience. For example, they learn how to wait their turn. Staff use sand timers to support children's understanding of turn taking, and children then begin to suggest using the sand timer at other times in play.
The curriculum is designed based on children's interests and engagement and is equally ambitious for all children. Children have a positive attitude to their learning.
For example, as they learn about nature and flowers, activities are set up to extend their knowledge. As they create pictures from real flowers, children learn about the various parts and recall words they have learned, such as 'petals' and 'leaf'.
