Funded hours
All 3 & 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours funded childcare the term after they turn 3. If you are a working family, you may be eligible to claim up to 30 hours funding for your child the term after they turn 9 months.

We ask parents to contribute towards the additional cost of these things by paying a small additional charge per funded hour; All children who are in receipt of 2 Year Better Together Funding or Early Years Pupil Premium will not be charged any additional charges, even when opting for Option 1.

What to ask them

- Is £9.50 an hour still the rate? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
