What it is like to attend
Children follow an ambitious curriculum that meets their needs well. The intent for what children will learn is clear and concise. Staff encourage children to develop resilience, individuality and curiosity. This is evidently effective, as children approach their learning with enthusiasm and excitement. Staff place a strong focus on supporting children to make good progress in their communication and language skills. Children make gains in their personal, social and emotional development and are empathetic and considerate towards each other. The curriculum is successfully woven through all learning activities and well embedded in all rooms for all ages of children. Consequently, all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress in their development.
Staff provide children with clear expectations for behaviour and are good role models. Children consistently behave well. Families are welcomed into the warm and friendly nursery. Parents take children to their nursery room and exchange information with their child's key person. This close working relationship helps children to settle, as staff are well informed about how well children have slept and how they are feeling.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- refine the mealtime routines so that they more effectively meet the needs of children n provide children with clear and consistent messages so they learn about good health practice and how to reduce the risk of the spread of infection.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
