What it is like to attend
Children thoroughly enjoy adventurous outdoor play at Chez Nanny Nursery. They learn to be imaginative and practise their large muscle movements in the mud kitchen. This supports children's early writing skills. Children laugh and giggle with friends as they climb up the steep slopes and whizz down the slide. They excitedly splash in muddy puddles while caring staff allow them to lead their own learning experiences and play. Children display positive attitudes.
Staff have high expectations and encourage positive behaviour. They remind children about the rules and support children to resolve conflict. Staff teach children about kindness and their actions towards others. They label feelings to support children's understanding. Staff praise children's efforts. They are dedicated, nurturing and good role models. Children invite their friends to play and praise them for their achievements. Their behaviour is good.
Staff understand what their key children need to learn next. They plan suitably challenging and individualised learning experiences that are based on children's interests. Staff focus on the vital skills and knowledge to support children's overall development. Leaders and staff plan a broad range of experiences outside of the nursery. Children visit the library, the local wood and home for the elderly. All children make good progress from their starting points.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
