Funded hours
All 3 to 4-year-olds in England can get 570 hours of free early education or childcare per year. It is usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. Some 2-year-olds are also eligible. We also offer 2 year old 15 hour extended funding and 30 hour funding from the term after a child turns 9 months if parents are applicable.
Worth knowing. If your child is ONLY using the free childcare entitlement (15 hr funding), you will not need to pay the deposit or the registration fee. If, however, you are using the free entitlement to subsidise your fees, you will still need to pay the deposit and the registration fee as above.

What it is like to attend
Staff provide children with an environment that supports their confidence. Children have fun and enjoy their learning. For example, they feel excited to join in with familiar dance routines. Children feel happy and have high levels of self-esteem.
Staff understand that some children have limited previous experiences. They plan opportunities for all children, including disadvantaged children, to learn about nature. For example, they teach children how to grow and tend to plants. Children learn how to identify local birds and other animals. Children feel excited to learn about the nature in their local community. This promotes children's understanding and respect for the natural world. Children are curious learners who enjoy learning about how things work.
Staff provide children with opportunities to develop and extend their literacy skills.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
