What it is like to attend
All children settle well in this fun, friendly and welcoming nursery. Children form positive relationships with staff and feel safe and secure as staff support those new to the nursery. They show a positive attitude to learning and behave well. Children play cooperatively with their peers and are developing their independence as they get ready for garden play. They wash their hands after garden play and before meals.
The curriculum is designed and implemented well. Staff know what they want children to learn to help them progress in their development. Staff work hard to get to know and understand the children in their care. This is done by providing settling-in visits and reassuring children with familiar comforts from home. This helps children to feel safe and secure at the nursery. Staff observe children while playing and then use this information to plan more activities based on the children's interesting themes, taking account of children's next steps for development. Children show confidence in their learning abilities and share their achievements with staff. In response, staff offer praise and recognition for children's successes and invite children to celebrate these.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- help staff to develop a stronger understanding of their role in managing daily routines to best meet children's needs n support staff to include quieter children more effectively during group activities to enhance learning and development opportunities.

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
