Funded hours
15 hours for 3 and 4 year olds, 15 hours for disadvantaged 2 year olds, up to 30 hours for eligible working families.
Worth knowing. Funded hours are between 9.00 - 12.00 and 12.30 - 3.30 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We first offer sessions up to 15 hours and then extended hours if available. Universal funding can be used for morning sessions. The consumable resources charge is optional. However, if you choose not to pay it you must make arrangements with the Preschool management to provide suitable alternatives in line with our Nutrition and other policies.

What it is like to attend
Children thoroughly enjoy their time at the pre-school. They are happy and excited to see their friends and staff. Children are familiar with the daily routines. For example, on arrival, they quickly hang up their coats and find a seat for circle time.
Children form strong bonds with staff. The effective key-person system helps children to feel confident, safe and secure.
Children are exceptionally respectful of staff and the environment, which is shown when they wash up their own plates and cups at lunchtime. They listen carefully to adults and respond well when asked to do something. Children show great kindness to their friends and help each other, unprompted, when they need support. For example, older children help younger children to find their coat pegs and a chair at circle time.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:

- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
