Funded hours
The preschools provides both the 2 year old & 3/4 year old Free Entitlement funding. We provide both the 15 hours and 30 hours funding.
Worth knowing. All our sessions are completely free for funded children. There are no registration/snack/lunch or consumables fees. All funded sessions are completely free. Get a minimum of 18 hours free per week (equivalent to 3 full days). This is an extra 3 hours free of charge.

What it is like to attend
Managers and staff know the children who attend the pre-school very well. They invest the time to learn about each child's interests, home lives and starting points in development when they start. This helps children to settle in well. The preschool has a strong key-person system, which is focused on children's well-being and personal development. Children are very happy and thrive in the pre-school.
They form close attachments with staff due to their warm, sensitive and caring interactions. Generally, children's behaviour is positive, with staff setting clear expectations at the beginning of each session. Children confidently recall the importance of sharing, taking turns, listening and using good manners. Children play harmoniously together.
Staff are dedicated to ensuring that all children make the best possible progress.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- allow children sufficient time to think and respond to questions asked n implement strategies to support smoother transitions between activities, to help children to stay engaged and focused at all times.

What to ask them
Some of this is above, from the setting or from parents, and it can go out of date. The rest is in no dataset anywhere. Either way it is worth ten minutes on the phone.
- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
