Worth knowing. Stretched funding: 15 hours term time stretched to up to 11 hours per week all year round; 30 hours term time stretched to around 22 hours per week all year round. Universal entitlement up to 15 hours a week over a minimum of two days; extended entitlement up to 15 hours a week in addition over a minimum of two days. Maximum hours per day 10 hours.

What it is like to attend
Children are settled and content attending. Staff develop lovely, positive and caring relationships with children. They care deeply about the children in their care and want the best for them. Babies seek out staff for comfort and reassurance. Two- to three-year-old children behave incredibly well and giggle with delight during their social lunchtime meal. Pre-school children learn about the nursery golden rules.
During planned activities, staff teach them how to listen to each other, solve problems and negotiate with their peers.
Overall, the curriculum is good. The nursery environment is well organised and resourced throughout. Children have a lot of fun, and they engage in a broad range of exciting experiences throughout the day. For example, babies enjoy the calming effects of baby yoga. They also love playing outside in the garden in the water and blowing bubbles. Two- to three-year-old children enjoy story and singing sessions during group time. Pre-school children enjoy art and craft activities. They make creations from paint, cornflour mixed with water and play dough. Staff support them to use their imaginations and make connections in their learning, including links to a recent story they have been reading. Therefore, all children make good progress in their learning.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- embed the curriculum ethos and make the best use of strategies available to fully engage children with SEND throughout the day n enhance the quality of teaching further, especially at times of transitions in the daily routines, to ensure messages are clearly conveyed and well understood by all children to gain their full cooperation in the tasks expected.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
