What it is like to attend
Managers and staff welcome children and parents and carers warmly into their setting. Children are confident and have strong bonds with staff. When they need to, children seek comfort from their key person. This helps children to feel settled and secure quickly as they arrive. Older children practise how to identify and talk about their emotions with staff. For example, children make comments about feeling happy because they received a cuddle from their parents in the morning.
Staff offer a curriculum with a clear intent that has children's interests and selfexpression at the heart of it. For example, children explore different artists and children's literature weekly. This is sequenced well throughout different classes, and there is a visible progress in children's learning. Staff know children well and have high expectations of what individual children can achieve. All children, including those who have special educational needs and/ or disabilities, make good progress from their starting points in development.
Staff use 'classroom rules' to encourage children to understand boundaries and promote their collaboration in activities. Children learn to make informed choices for their own learning. For example, staff invite children to see a variety of resources on different tables and explain to them the intent of the activities.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
