Funded hours
From September 2025, working families will be able to access up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week during term time, for children aged 9 months to 4 years.
Worth knowing. Your free 30 hours are sessional; A half day is 8-1pm or 1-6pm and is 5 hours per session; A full day is 8am-6pm and is 10 hours per session; There is a small charge for early morning care from 7:30am-8am; For Funded places, there is a charge for a consumables package which consists meals, nappies, wipes, change creams, sun cream and more.

- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
