What it is like to attend
Leaders and staff at this nursery provide a warm and highly nurturing environment for children. Staff build strong relationships with children and their families from the moment they start attending. They get to know children well and show genuine interest in their family lives. Staff are responsive, and they quickly learn how to meet children's individual needs. As a result, the nursery imitates a homely space with a natural family feeling.
Leaders have worked hard to design a curriculum that helps to build on children's existing skills and prepare them for their next stage of learning. There is a strong focus on developing relationships and helping children to become confident communicators. Leaders and staff are tuned in to children's interests and use what they know about them to plan exciting and motivating learning opportunities.
Children are caring and compassionate. The skilled and caring staff are excellent role models. They thread kindness and empathy throughout daily routines. As a result, children display this behaviour to their friends. For example, they ask how each other are feeling, and they notice when their friends have hurt themselves and make sure they are ok. Leaders and staff create reward systems that include kindness certificates, which children receive for showing care to their friends. This helps children to feel valued and teaches them more complex emotional responses.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- support staff to use the language they want children to learn so that their communication development is supported even further n give children time to process information and respond to questions n provide leaders and staff with the training they need to fully support children with SEND and help them to make even better progress.

What to ask them
