What it is like to attend
Staff welcome children as they arrive with genuine warmth. Children separate from their parents happily. They are eager to come to nursery and quickly settle into the daily routine. Through consistently caring and positive interactions, staff support children's emotional well-being and sense of security effectively.
Staff know children well and understand their individual needs and stages of development. They offer a wide range of engaging resources and activities, providing support and encouragement to help children thrive. For instance, staff skilfully support older children to explore different ways of moving and to challenge themselves using the climbing frame and net. Younger children are carefully supported to balance on beams, with staff sensitively adjusting the level of challenge and offering reassurance. This encourages children to take appropriate risks in their play, promotes confidence and supports their physical development.
Staff set clear, age-appropriate expectations and boundaries, which are applied gently and consistently. This helps children to understand routines, make positive choices and feel secure. Expectations around kindness are embedded in daily practice. As a result, children behave well and show respect for others.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- increase opportunities for children to think for themselves and explore their own ideas, ensuring staff allow sufficient time for children to respond and lead aspects of their learning n ensure all information shared with children is accurate, so that misconceptions are avoided and understanding is consistently reinforced.
