What it is like to attend
Managers and staff know children and their families well. They form close partnerships with parents to support individual children's learning. The curriculum is ambitious and tailored to every child's needs and interests, especially supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. For example, staff swiftly address any gaps in learning. The curriculum builds on what children already know and encourages children's curiosity, independence and resilience. Children who speak English as an additional language and those who need support with their communication and language development make good progress. Staff are attentive and responsive. They promote children's emotional and physical well-being, such as through consistent routines and positive interactions.
Staff build strong and trusting relationships with children. They create a calm and purposeful environment, where children feel secure, respected and confident to explore and learn. Children arrive happy and settle quickly. They show high levels of emotional security. Staff use consistent routines and offer plenty of praise and encouragement. As a result, children behave well. Staff teach children to care for each other, share and take turns during their play. Younger children form close bonds with staff. Older children are encouraging of their younger siblings and demonstrate that they feel confident and secure with staff. For example, older children approach staff and express their needs when they wish to. Children thrive in this warm, nurturing and inclusive setting, which parents and carers describe as a 'home-from-home nursery'.
