Funded hours
The "FREE ENTITLEMENT" from the government is for all children from the terms following their 3rd Birthday. It is for 38 weeks a year and all children are entitled to up to 15 hours of "Free Entitlement" a week.
Worth knowing. Any hours attended in addition to the 15 hours "FREE ENTITLEMENT" will be charged as per the rate of the above fees. A consumables fee per term will be charged in the Autumn/Spring/Summer terms (three times a year).

What it is like to attend
When children arrive at the pre-school, they receive a warm welcome from leaders and staff. Staff create a friendly and inviting atmosphere, allowing children to build strong relationships with their peers and the adults. Staff plan a variety of interesting and engaging activities that cover all areas of the curriculum. This approach also provides children with opportunities for self-directed play. Young children enjoy playing with staff and receive assistance, for example, while dressing up during role play. Older children demonstrate confidence as they communicate their needs effectively to staff.
Staff serve as positive role models for children, which encourages their good behaviour. As a result, younger children start to understand and consider the needs of others while sharing resources. Older children are kind and include younger ones in their play ideas, patiently waiting their turn.
Staff value the knowledge they have gained from speech and language training, which has helped them to feel more confident in their interactions. For instance, children demonstrate curiosity by asking relevant questions about what they observe. They engage with staff to discuss various insects they find while exploring soil. Staff allow time for children to respond to their questions and instructions.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:

- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
