What it is like to attend
Children demonstrate that they feel settled and are safe and secure. They increase their confidence as they make choices about what they would like to play with.
Children enjoy finding out how things feel. They are motivated and interested as they explore shaving foam with their hands. Children who are less reluctant to use their hands have opportunities to join in, using items, such as paintbrushes. Twoyear-old children show good concentration as they spend time completing puzzles.
Staff support them to rotate the pieces, so that they fit into the board. Children develop a real interest in books. Babies and toddlers explore material and board books, and two-year-old children join in with words and phrases to familiar stories.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- enhance teaching so that staff consistently challenge and extend children's learning, so that children achieve as much as they can n focus support and coaching for staff to help them to fully understand how to sequence the curriculum, so they consistently shape activities to support children's ongoing learning.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
