What it is like to attend
Children enter the nursery with happiness and excitement to begin their day. Warm and affectionate greetings are given by staff, and a sense of welcome is provided.
Staff have good relationships with children and families. They find out key information about children from when they first start attending. Settling-in sessions are flexible to support the needs of the child.
A sense of curiosity, confidence, and independence is displayed by the children as they are nurtured into active, enthusiastic learners. The garden is eagerly explored, with fascinating insects being discovered and joyfully shared among friends. Their wonder is extended by staff who provide magnifying glasses and spark lively conversations about the creatures found to further their understanding of insects.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- support staff to recognise the needs of younger children at mealtimes, to help children eat independently and engage in social conversations n share further information with parents about the importance of nutrition to benefit children's health.

- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
