Worth knowing. Stretched Funding spreads the 38-week academic year's fund over 52 weeks, giving 11 hours (Universal Entitlement) and 22 hours (Extended Funding) per week. If entitled to Extended Funding but only attending two days per week, only 20 hours of funding can be claimed, as the Government has a maximum daily funding period of 10 hours.

What it is like to attend
The nurturing staff team builds strong relationships with children and their families.
Effective settling-in sessions help children move from home to the nursery and from one room to the next as they progress through. Staff build strong partnerships with parents and encourage them to be a part of their children's lives in the nursery. For example, parents attend stay-and-play sessions and meet with staff to discuss their child's learning. Staff seek a range of information from parents about children's interests and development to help plan personalised learning experiences from the outset. Children arrive happy, and they separate from their parents with ease. They are eager to play and are motivated to learn.
Staff provide a range of engaging play experiences to support children's learning.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- strengthen staff understanding and use of planning systems, particularly in the toddler room, so that curriculum implementation is consistent and supports even better progress for all children n support staff to develop their questioning skills to help children extend their thinking and speaking even further.

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
