What it is like to attend
Children are engaged and confident in this setting. Staff plan activities that are based on children's interests and that they know the children will enjoy. Staff encourage children to join in and build on their knowledge and skills. When working with babies, staff are caring and attentive. Babies approach staff for comfort and praise, showing that they feel safe and secure. Young children use toy vehicles to make tracks in the play dough. They enjoy exploring the marks and patterns that they have made. Singing and story sessions capture children's interest. Staff skilfully use bubbles and props to engage younger children, ensuring activities are interactive and purposeful. Older children listen intently as staff read stories in an enthusiastic and engaging way. Staff encourage children to think about what might happen next and repeat familiar refrains. As a result, children make good progress in their communication and language development.
Children are well behaved at this setting. Staff help children to understand the impact of their behaviours and model positive interactions. The curriculum supports all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities
(SEND), to make good progress. Staff encourage children to take care of themselves and learn independence skills. For example, children wipe their own faces and put on their own shoes. Children are well prepared for their next stage in learning.
