Funded hours
There are different funding offers available to children aged from 9 months up to 4 years. Funding is paid for 38 weeks of the year (term time). At Little Learners we offer our funding 'stretched' across 51 weeks of the year, a total of 11 hours per week for Universal funding and 22 hours per week for 30 hours funding. We have a few limited term time only options at our West Croydon Branch.
Worth knowing. Please note that we do not offer any single half day slots for any funded sessions, the minimum attendance is two half day sessions per week for funded sessions.

What it is like to attend
Children arrive at the nursery happily and settle quickly. They are keen to participate in a range of interesting activities as staff provide a challenging and enjoyable curriculum. Children are confident and very sociable. Older children are good communicators and have a wide vocabulary. They excitedly talk about the nursery pets and say that they particularly like playing outdoors and using the paints. Toddlers learn how to be independent as they confidently serve their own meals. Staff recognise children's interest in transport which prompts an activity where toddlers tally up different types of vehicles that they see. This supports their language and communication and develops their early mathematical skills.
Babies are emotionally secure as staff are warm and nurturing. They snuggle into staff as they sit on their laps. They enjoy singing familiar rhymes, such as 'the wheels on the bus'. They copy actions and bounce up and down excitedly. Babies'
physical skills are well supported as they cruise around furniture and confidently negotiate the steps on the climbing apparatus.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- review the organisation of large activities in the pre-school unit to maximise all children's learning opportunities n develop staff's knowledge and skills to enable them to support children who speak English as an additional language as well as possible.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
