Funded hours
9-23 months old children are entitled to 15 hours for working families. 2 years old children are entitled to 15 hours for working families. 3 to 4 years old children are entitled to15 hours for all families and 30 hours for working families. In September 2025, Children from the age of 9 months old will be able to receive 30 hours of government funding childcare for working families.
Worth knowing. Now those figures are based on 38 weeks out of 52 weeks but at Little Llamas Montessori Nursery we open 50 weeks per year, so your free hours of childcare allowance will be stretched and will become 11.40 hours or 22.80 hours per week. We will occasionally apply additional charges. You will be able to refuse, and we will ask your approval before, such charges will be for: Extra hours Parties Trips.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
