What it is like to attend
Children are happy, content and demonstrate trust in the staff and have a sense of belonging. Staff know the children well and provide a wide range of activities that support children's learning in all areas. All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), learn in an environment that is stimulating and supports their needs.
The staff are good role models and regularly reinforce behavioural expectations.
Children are caring, polite and follow instructions well. For instance, they help staff to tidy toys away as they transition into the next aspect of the routine. The rules and boundaries in place help children feel safe, and they learn right from wrong.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- improve the planning of group activities and daily routines to fully support children's learning and avoid long waiting periods n strengthen information-sharing with parents to help ensure that they are kept consistently informed and involved in their children's learning.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
