What it is like to attend
Children are relaxed, confident and settled at this inclusive and nurturing preschool. Leaders and staff give a high priority to children's emotional well-being.
This supports children to quickly form close bonds with staff and positive relationships with other children. Children behave well at the pre-school. There are well-embedded routines in place and children know exactly what is expected of them. Children enjoy playing a game with coloured building blocks. As well as discussing the colours of the blocks, staff gently remind children that they need to take turns to add their blocks to the tower. Children patiently wait their turn to place their blocks. Staff are full of praise for children's self-control and good manners. This supports children effectively to begin to manage their own behaviour and to be ready for their next steps, such as starting school.
Leaders at the pre-school create a curriculum which is ambitious for all children.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
