What it is like to attend
Children are safe and secure in this nursery. Staff provide an environment tailored to the children's interests. Older children excitedly explore the home corner. They make 'tea' for their friends. They observe what happens when they mix tea leaves with water. They discuss that tea is hot and how they must be careful.
Babies and toddlers happily explore their environment alongside their friends. They develop their physical skills as the climb the steps and the slope. Toddlers beam with happiness as they receive high levels of praise for using their newly learned walking skills. Older children learn to take safe risks when they climb large equipment in the garden. Staff are close by to support them and discuss the importance of being safe while climbing.
Children are very well behaved. Young children in the garden call their friends to join them in the sandpit. Older children work together to make 'cakes' with the play dough. They share ideas and resources. They confidently ask staff for the beads to use as 'sprinkles'. Toddlers cuddle their friends when they see they are sad. All children in the nursery show high levels of respect for their friends.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- support staff in building their confidence to use what they know about children with SEND to successfully implement strategies and provide children with the support they need to make continuous progress.
