What it is like to attend
Children show extremely high levels of curiosity and enthusiasm when exploring the highly welcoming and inspiring environment. Staff plan an abundance of exciting and creative activities, making the curriculum very rich and varied. As a result, children are extremely eager to learn and show very positive attitudes towards new experiences. Staff are excellent role models. They have very high expectations for children's learning and behaviour. Staff successfully encourage children to explore, think and make decisions in an extremely nurturing and supportive way.
Children joyfully engage in fun and interactive singing and dancing sessions along to the guitar. They display very high levels of emotional well-being, positive behaviour and exuberance as they explore different instruments and join in with familiar songs. This helps to build children's confidence and creativity in a fun and highly effective way. Children show a great interest and an emerging knowledge as they learn about their different body parts when exploring body maps, bones and play dough. Staff successfully introduce new knowledge in relation to skeletons, muscles and how milk keeps children's bones strong and healthy. This supports children's understanding of the world and the importance of leading healthy lifestyles. Furthermore, children delight in exploring a range of spices and foods as they play imaginatively in the home corner. Staff skilfully extend children's language skills and introduce new vocabulary, such as 'sweet', 'delicious' and
'fragrant'. Children are evidently flourishing and love their time at the nursery.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
