What it is like to attend
Children thrive at this highly inviting and inclusive setting. They benefit from a challenging and ambitious curriculum that ignites children's curiosity to learn. This includes making new discoveries and showing determination to solve their own problems they encounter during play and investigations.
Children's communication and language skills are continually embedded throughout all age groups in the setting. Each nursery room focuses on core story books and familiar songs. These stories and songs are chosen with a specific focus to extend, challenge and build on children's level of development. Children are eager to recite stories to visitors and do so with intonation and animation. From babies through to pre-school, all children show a deep love of stories, songs and rhymes. Children take resources home to help to continue this learning. For instance, pre-school children look for sticks of different shapes and size while on walks with their family to bring back to nursery to work on for their individual projects. This is based on their favourite stories. Children create story maps using drawings and use their own sticks for different purposes. For instance, recreating a fishing rod, collecting leaves in puddles and even to pretend the sticks are magic wands. This helps to enhance children's excellent imaginative skills.

What to ask them
None of this is in any national dataset and this setting has not published it, which is exactly why it is worth asking.
- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- Can I use my funded hours here? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
