Funded hours
Government funding for all children from the term after their 3rd birthday (for 15 hours a week). Some 2 year olds may also qualify for 15 hours a week funding from the term after their 2nd birthday. We also accept the working families funding and tax free childcare payments.

What it is like to attend
Children thoroughly enjoy their time at the playgroup. They demonstrate that they feel safe and secure as they engage in interesting activities that ignite their curiosity. Staff care deeply about the children in their care. They regularly take time to chat with children, who are keen to share their news. This helps children develop secure relationships with staff, demonstrating that they feel safe, secure and valued.
Children learn early literacy skills as they develop a love of letters and sounds.
Older children learn that text has meaning as they explore the characteristics of letters. For instance, children learn that an 'O' has a round shape. Children begin to link the initial sound to familiar letters within their name. This helps provide children with the skills they will need for future reading and writing.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- provide children with a consistent approach to their learning by creating a twoway flow of information with other settings that children also attend.

- Is £18.00 a session still the rate? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
