What it is like to attend
Children love attending this warm and welcoming nursery. Staff have worked hard to develop and maintain strong, secure relationships with children and their families. Children are happy and show emotional stability. They settle quickly into the day. Babies babble and giggle with staff and enjoy sensory play. They excitedly squeeze water from sponges and splash in the water tray. Staff use comforting language and expressions to help babies feel secure and valued. Children have a high level of self-esteem. Older children are encouraged by staff to give themselves a pat on the back and say 'well done me!' to acknowledge achievements.
Staff make sure children's health and care needs are supported and encourage children to complete tasks with independence. They know children well and understand how to help them achieve new goals. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are fully included in the nursery and are valued by their peers. Staff identify any gaps in learning quickly in order to work with children, families and external agencies to help children catch up and keep up.

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
