What it is like to attend
Staff greet children with big smiles and a warm welcome as they arrive. Children settle quickly and enjoy playing with staff. They have a good attitude to learning.
During group activities, staff plan and teach children the skills they need to learn to make progress. Older children sit and follow instructions, responding to questions challenging their understanding of language. Younger children joyfully join in with staff who sing familiar songs, such as 'Sleeping Bunnies'. Children giggle as staff use their inventive suggestions to change the lyrics and adapt their actions for 'Tall
Giraffes'. These activities help children explore patterns in language and help prepare them for future learning.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- strengthen staff interactions during children's chosen play activities so that children consistently learn and practise the skills and knowledge in the leaders'
curriculum n further support staff to consistently adapt routines and the environment to meet children's needs, particularly for younger children during transitions between activities, so they can hear, concentrate and be ready to learn.
