Funded hours
15 hours per week once your child turns 2 years old, depending on your family circumstances; 15 hours per week for every 3 & 4 year old; 30 hours per week from 9 months to compulsory school age, for those who meet the working hours criteria.
Worth knowing. All funding for childcare is only available term time (38 weeks per year in total). Our Clacton and Kirby site are term time only so your child can attend for the 15 or 30 hours funding and not pay any top up fee’s. You would only incur a fee if you went over the hours funded if you choose to attend more sessions. These will be charge at an hourly rate depending on the age of the child. Our Holland (45 weeks) and Holland park site (45 or 48 weeks) are open for more weeks per year with both of th.

What it is like to attend
Children are at the centre of this nurturing nursery. They arrive happily, and energetic staff greet them by name as they welcome them into the nursery.
Children proudly recognise their name on their self-registration 'caterpillar' and put it on their peg as they arrive. This gives children a sense of belonging.
Staff demonstrate an incredibly enthusiastic approach to outdoor learning. Children benefit greatly from opportunities to explore, imagine and investigate. They confidently make their own choices in learning and decide what they want to do.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- support staff to ensure that children are given time to share their own views or ideas during activities n improve the organisation of group activities and teaching to provide quieter children with more support in their learning.

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
