30 free hours for children between nine months and four years old for qualifying parents; all children benefit from 15 hours per week funded by the government from the term after their third birthday.
Worth knowing. Fully funded places are 12.15pm to 5pm each day; optional additional cost of full programme is £10 per day (£2 meals, £1 consumables, £7 activities) for children aged under 2, and £20 per day (£3 meals, £17 activities) for children over 2; funding stretched over 48 weeks equates to 4.75 hours per day; eligibility requires both parents earning between £167 a week and £100,000 a year.
