2, 3 & 4-year olds, Early Learning for 2-year olds funding, Working Parent Entitlement for 2, 3 & 4 year olds, as well as the 3 & 4-year old universal hours.
Worth knowing. You will still be asked to pay a food charge, non-food consumable charge and activity charge for each session that your child attends. These charges are optional; however, you will be asked to provide all food, non-food consumables and activity resources for your child if you notify us if you do not wish to pay this optional charge.

What it is like to attend
Staff provide a warm welcome when children and families arrive at the nursery.
Children look into the 'How am I feeling' mirror and tell staff that they are happy to be here. They find their named wooden doll and put it into the wooden nursery to show that they have arrived.
Play spaces have plenty of toys and resources for children to choose from. The manager and staff have a clear vision for the curriculum and how they can teach it.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- improve the organisation of changes and the way that staff support children so they know what to do n make sure that staff notice and support children who may need help to engage with activities.

What to ask them
Some of this is above, from the setting or from parents, and it can go out of date. The rest is in no dataset anywhere. Either way it is worth ten minutes on the phone.
- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
