What it is like to attend
Children thrive in this warm and nurturing environment. They arrive at the nursery with enthusiasm, ready for their day. Children display positive attitudes towards learning and are eager to participate. Staff interactions are of a high quality and relationships are strong between staff and children. For example, staff plan adultled group activities for their own key groups. During these learning opportunities, staff skilfully allow children the time they require to share their opinions and to answer open-ended questions. Children talk about their experiences from home confidently. They talk about recent holidays and respectfully listen to others. This nourishes children's self-esteem.
Staff provide children with access to an effectively organised, calm and wellresourced learning environment. Each area is an inviting place for children to learn and provides opportunities based on children's interests and next steps. For example, staff teach children about Spring, and children spend significant periods using one-handed tools in the garden to explore the soil. They interact with each other, taking turns to speak, and laugh with excitement when they find insects.
They engage intently in their play. Other children paint pictures of flowers, exploring different creative materials to make their design. Children demonstrate impressive behaviour while at the nursery. Staff support them to learn the rules and routines through careful explanations. Staff offer praise at every opportunity to reinforce children's positive behaviour. Staff help children to develop an understanding of their emotions. They provide multiple areas for children to selfregulate and refer to pictures displaying emotions to help them explain how they feel.

- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
