What it is like to attend
Children thrive at this exceptional pre-school. They are truly inquisitive and actively explore the highly stimulating learning opportunities available to them. Children's behaviour is excellent. They have the highest respect for the environment and their friends. Children set themselves a mission to protect butterflies. They use binoculars to search for them and explain in great detail how they are protecting butterflies from drowning in the water. Children are highly aware of the needs of others. They actively choose to support their friends who need extra help, such as by sitting close to them at snack time. Children offer others reassurance, such as by telling them not to worry when they spill their drink.
Children clearly feel safe, happy and secure and build extremely close attachments to the staff. The highest priority is given to children's health and well-being. All children choose to spend considerable amounts of the day outdoors. Since the last inspection, the garden has been transformed into a truly inspiring learning area.
Natural areas entice children to look for wildlife, such as bugs. They know to handle them carefully and to return them to their natural habitat. Children thoroughly enjoy walking barefoot in the flowing stream. They talk about how the water feels on their feet, such as describing it as 'cold and tickly'.
