Funded hours
Funding is available for all eligible two, three and four year olds, direct from Kent Education Authority. Working parents entitlement is up to 30 hours for all eligible 2, 3 and 4 years olds. Funding entitlement for non working parents is up to 15 hours for 3 and 4 year olds.
Worth knowing. Funding can be used on morning and lunch sessions with any hours above your funding allocation being billed as additional.

What it is like to attend
Children are happy to attend the pre-school. They leave their parents at the gate and enter with a big smile. Children settle quickly and are keen to explore the activities set for them by the welcoming and enthusiastic staff. They demonstrate that they feel safe and secure. Children's development of early mathematical skills is well supported. For example, staff encourage children to count the dots on a picture, while older children begin to match the quantity of objects to a specific number. This helps children to understand that numbers have a purpose.
Children behave well. They are respectful and kind to each other and adults.
Children play cooperatively with their friends. They share and take turns. For example, children take turns when adding 'ingredients' to their 'cake mixture' in the mud kitchen. Staff praise children for their behaviour, efforts and achievements.

To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- support staff to improve their interaction and questioning skills, to further challenge and extend children's learning and development.

- Is £10.50 a session still the rate? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
