What it is like to attend
Children are happy and secure at this playgroup. The staff team have developed a warm and welcoming relationship with the children, which helps to build children's self esteem. Children show signs of being confident and excited as they talk about what they are going to play.
Behaviour is positive and managed sensitively by teaching children empathy and ways to identify different feelings and emotions. Children considerately wait their turn for snack, and they treat living things, such as insects, with total care when exploring.
Children benefit from a range of first-hand experiences during their time at the playgroup. For example, they have recently enjoyed visits from local fire fighters and police, and they have seen baby lambs from the local farm. Children gain a good understanding about the world around them.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should: - enhance the organisation of group activities more effectively, to ensure that all children remain fully engaged in their learning n strengthen communication with younger children to support their learning and vocabulary further.

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
