What it is like to attend
Children arrive at the setting with confidence. They smile with delight as their key person greets them with open arms at the door. Staff provide children with a wellrounded curriculum that, overall, builds on what they already know and can do.
Babies move their bodies to the rhythm as they listen to songs and rhymes. They show their excitement as they squeal and giggle with staff and clap their hands.
Babies explore musical instruments and puppets. This helps to bring the songs and stories to life and promotes their engagement. Two-year-old children beam with joy as they explore messy play activities. They tell staff that they are making milkshakes for their friends. Staff offer children resources, such as cups and jugs, to enhance their play further. This helps children to develop their imaginative play skills. Older children enjoy group sessions, where they manipulate dough to music.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- enhance systems for coaching and mentoring staff, to help them to develop their practice and implement the intended curriculum more consistently n support staff to use consistent approaches when managing children's behaviour, to help children to understand the impact their behaviour has on others.
