What it is like to attend
Children feel happy, safe and excited to learn in this warm and welcoming environment. Staff get to know the children well. When children first start at the setting, staff follow their home routines, where possible. This helps children to feel settled and confident. Children are free to choose where they want to play, whether it's exploring outdoors, joining in creative activities or discovering something new through exciting experiments. Young children are supported to communicate and feel understood, with staff using gestures, songs and stories to build their language. Children make their own choices, express themselves and are listened to. They learn how to play kindly with others, take turns and talk about their feelings. The setting is calm and friendly, so children feel secure to take risks and try new things. Whether planting vegetables, taking donations to the foodbank or joining in local events, children are given opportunities to learn about the world.
Children learn through play and are offered a variety of experiences. As a result, children grow in independence, develop strong friendships and are well prepared for their next stage in learning.
