What it is like to attend
Staff warmly greet children and parents and their carers at the door on arrival and welcome them into the nursery. Children settle quickly when they arrive. They display strong bonds with staff. Children reach out for comfort when needed, which helps them to develop a sense of security. Staff act as positive role models. They offer lots of support and use gentle reminders with children as they play, such as encouraging them to take turns and share resources. Staff quickly help children to resolve any minor disputes, giving them time to discuss their feelings. This helps all children to behave well and develop respectful friendships.
Leaders have designed a curriculum that is sequenced well and aims to give children a broad range of enriching experiences. Staff know children very well.
They ensure that children's interests are embedded into their play and learning.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- develop further strategies to help all children to maintain their focus and concentration, such as by reducing the noise levels in the indoor area.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
