Funded hours
Government funded places of either 15 or 30 hours (according to the government criteria and with an appropriate eligibility code), for children the term after their 3rd birthday. We also offer 2 year funding for either families who are eligible for 15 hours or working families.
Worth knowing. There is a paid provision which parents can top up funded hours. Our hourly rate for top up is £8.50.

What it is like to attend
Children are happy and settled in this warm and welcoming provision. All children, including those who are new, are well supported by staff who are kind, welcoming and caring. Staff know the children well, and they offer good assurances to help children to feel secure. Effective key-person arrangements are in place to ensure that all children are well supported, and their individual needs are met. This helps children to have a strong sense of belonging.
Staff plan and provide a curriculum that is fun and interesting. Overall, staff support children's learning well. For example, they promote children's communication and language development effectively through singing songs, discussions and small-group activities. This helps to build children's vocabulary and promotes their listening and attention skills. All children, including those in receipt of additional funding and those in need of specific support, make good progress.
Staff are good role models. They positively remind children of the provision's boundaries, such as using 'kind hands' and 'walking feet'. Children have built some good friendships and are seen to play games, such as hide and seek, together.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- support children further to consider their own thoughts and ideas to help them express these and solve problems for themselves n build on the good behaviour management strategies to help support children's understanding of the rules and boundaries even further.

What to ask them

- Is £8.50 an hour still the rate? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Do you have a place for a child of my age now? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
