What it is like to attend
Children benefit from caring and positive relationships with staff. Staff know children well and help them to get ready for their day. Children have settled well, and this helps them to feel safe and secure at nursery. Staff are very attentive to babies. They explore shakers and mirrors to help children discover their reflections and the noises they hear. This promotes children's curiosity, developing a real sense of belonging.
Staff implement a broad and balanced curriculum that takes into account children's interests and individual needs. Staff prioritise communication and language, singing songs with musical instruments. Children listen and repeat new words, modelled by staff. This helps children to become happy and confident communicators.
Children have a strong understanding of rules and boundaries. They demonstrate appropriate behaviours at nursery. Staff create an environment where children learn to respect resources and one another. For example, staff praise children for their contribution to help tidy up and the positive impact this has. Children play alongside one another well and demonstrate good manners.
What Ofsted told them to improve
To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should:
- strengthen teaching methods so that staff's interactions consistently extend children's learning, particularly during child-led play n refine ways to effectively manage transitions during the day so staff reduce children's waiting times to consistently support their focus and learning.

What to ask them

- What does it cost, all in? What is on top: meals, nappies, late pick-up, and what happens if you are late.
- How do you apply my funded hours? Whether they stretch them over the year, and the minimum days you have to book.
- Is there a place for my child's age? Baby rooms fill first and waiting lists are common.
- Who would my child's key person be? And how long have the staff been there. No dataset holds this and it matters more than anything above.
- Can I visit at a busy time? Mid-morning on a weekday tells you far more than an empty room after hours.
